I think I’m having blogger’s block already but maybe I just have to plunge in and say something here (plus I promised Maria I’d do this last night!) (Maria is a bigger nudge than me) (I mean that in a nice way). OK. About myself. I love to talk about myself so I don’t know why I should be blocking. There is so much to say about my life as a foodie. It’s just, where to begin?
I guess it all began because my parents taught me how to make the bacon and eggs and sometimes sausage for them on Saturday mornings (my dad would say – make me “down on the farm”). We had this big green electric frying pan and I would make the bacon and then cook the eggs in the bacon grease sunny side up, except they instructed me to steam the eggs at the end by pouring a very small amount of water in the pan, and putting the cover on for a few minutes, so the yolks cooked a bit more. I had to be careful to watch to make sure I didn’t leave it too long so the yolks got hard. Did anyone else ever make eggs this way? Seems wrong somehow now that I think about it.
OK this too much information already isn’t it? I should probably just summarize.
Oh yeah, my dad also taught me early on how to make his martini and my mom’s manhattan. I liked the manhattan better, because I preferred maraschino cherries over olives.
Then when I turned 9 years old…
Just kiddin’ – I’ll spare you further details for now. Then I’ll have lots of fodder for future posts when I have this blocking thing again. I know everyone can’t wait for the next installment.
OK, the 3rd of the G3 has spoken. (Maria are you happy now?) <wink>
